Stainless Flat Bar Production

Known as "lama" in the market, stainless flat bars are among the most sought-after stainless steel products. In the industry, flats made of stainless grades such as 304, 316, 304L, 316L, 630, and 15-5 PH are most commonly used. At Karaca Paslanmaz, we maintain our commitment to production quality. Flats are solid, rectangular-section steel products. Stainless flats obtain their rectangular shape through hot rolling. Stainless steel billets, heated to processing temperatures, are passed through different rollers to take their desired cross-sectional shapes. Stainless flats are produced in various sizes to suit their areas of application.

In the production of stainless flats, a special molten steel alloy is poured into channels to form stainless billets. These billets are then hot-rolled through rollers, where their temperatures allow them to take shape in the desired sections. In the final stage, flats are cut to length.

Stainless flats are part of the austenitic group of stainless steels and are non-magnetic. They offer high formability, excellent corrosion resistance, and good weldability. This group constitutes about 75% of all stainless production.

These products are typically sold in 6-meter lengths, as this length is more convenient for storage and transport. However, production can be arranged in shorter or longer lengths depending on the project. For custom dimensions, please contact us to obtain stainless flat products in various sizes. Our customer representatives develop unique solutions for projects we collaborate on.

Applications of Stainless Flat Bars

Due to their durability and aesthetic appeal, the usage of these products is increasing daily. Stainless products symbolize prestige and advancement, leading to a growing and diversifying demand. Main application areas include the food industry, manufacturing, shipbuilding, construction, and furniture.

Use of Stainless Flats in the Food Industry

As hygienic materials, stainless products are preferred in the food industry. They are used as parts in food production machines, mixers, and machine frames. Due to their corrosion resistance and durability, they find applications from cutlery to display counters. In the food industry, grade 304 stainless products are commonly used.

Use of Stainless Flats in Manufacturing

These are durable, corrosion-resistant products that do not require painting. Certain parts produced for machines are made of stainless steel. In hard-to-reach areas, stainless flats that require no maintenance are used.

In machining tasks, L-grade (304L, 316L) stainless materials are preferred. Due to the precise measurements and machining requirements of these parts, L-grade stainless is better suited. Stainless flats are also used as power transmission components.

Use of Stainless Flats in Shipbuilding

In watercraft of all sizes, where resistance to corrosion is essential, stainless steel components prove reliable. Key components made of stainless flats are ideal for long-term use in the shipbuilding industry. It is advisable to use grade 316 stainless in this sector.

The shipbuilding industry also uses 316-grade stainless flats for transmission components due to their high mechanical and corrosive resistance. Additionally, stainless flats are popular for aesthetic elements in yachts and boats.

Use of Stainless Flats in Construction

Stainless products, valued for their superior strength, low maintenance, and aesthetic appeal, are utilized in construction. Stainless flats are frequently found in handrails, facades, and decorative elements.

In building staircases and pedestrian overpasses, stainless flats serve as railing components. Stainless steel flats have also been used as partition elements in some buildings. Stainless products look elegant on facades, often used as frame or connecting elements.

Use of Stainless Flats in Furniture

Stainless products are used in tables, chairs, and desks. Due to their compatibility with wooden surfaces, stainless products are also used as decorative, shiny bands on furniture.

Our customer representatives will provide you with pricing information and details for stainless flats. You can obtain stainless flats for the food, shipbuilding, chemical, construction, manufacturing, and furniture industries from Karaca Paslanmaz at global standards.
